Krazy Story
Once upon a time there was a robot named Oliver that lived on a
planet far away. It had all a robot could want except (Zachary Nasgowitz) a friend. (Maria Brainerd and
Leah Nasgowitz) So the robot decided to build a friend! (Lindsay Sheehan) (You've heard of build a bear haven't
you?) So first he made an
extra large mushroom and olive pizza, to eat of course. (Charlie Martinez) Then he decided to make a friend out
of old pieces of metal, (Leah
Nasgowitz) some screws and
nuts, (Zachary Nasgowitz) rubber bands, (Eric
Papenthien) and some old toys.
(Leah Nasgowitz) After he
was done, he realized he didn't build a robot, he built a tiny hover
craft, (Charlie Martinez) that he could drive anywhere he
wanted, but he didn't have a license. (Adam Gerrits) Since there really weren't any robot
police that he knew of, he decided to take his chances. So he flew around and around
the planet until (David Rashid) he spotted something unusual. (Zachary Nasgowitz) Oliver
thought he saw something moving
below him on the far side of the planet. (Mary Jo Ludin) When
he landed his hover craft, he was very surprised to find a
broken robot lying on the ground. (David
Rashid) He was very excited
and immediately began to plan to fix it. As he was planning, he
heard something to his side that caused him to look up. About a
block away, the little robot saw
a number of houses that seemed to be home to other robots - at least 40
or more! (Maria
Brainerd) A few of the robots were moving about outside
their houses, mowing and
cutting their robot lawns. (Eric
Papenthien) He ran to get
a closer look. (David Rashid) When he watched them a bit, he
thought they seemed like little robot families. (Maria
Brainerd) For a moment he
felt a pang of loneliness. He thought they couldn't see him but
all of a sudden it looked
as if they were coming towards him! (Leah Nasgowitz) He got a bit nervous, and began to
run away, but he tripped. (Mary Spieckerman) He started to get up but then he
fell again. (Eric Papenthien) Just then, all the robots ran to him
and helped him up. (David Rashid). First he thought the other robots seemed very caring
and loving. (Rachel Scaduto) But then he noticed that they were different
from him in an odd way. (Zachary Nasgowitz) The robots were made upside down!
(Mary Jo Ludin) Their heads
were on the ground, then came their bodies, and lastly their legs
seemed to dangle up in the air. They did have rollers on the top
of their heads so they still could get around, but the little robot
couldn't help but giggle because they all looked so funny. Then, one of the smaller robots came
up to him and asked if he was OK. (David Rashid) "I'm fine
thanks," he replied. Another robot asked him where he came
from. "I live just a few
miles away on this planet," answered Oliver. (Leah Nasgowitz) "Can you stay a while?" asked a smaller
robot, looking a little shy. "Of course, he must stay for
dinner!" exclaimed yet another robot. But this robot seemed a bit
strange. Unlike all the other robots, this one had a bow tie and
a suit on,(Keelyn
Macgregor) which looked a bit
comical as it was all upside down. "Well, I guess I can stay,
answered Oliver." "Yea!" they all shouted, and many turned and
started back toward the houses. Oliver began to follow behind the
group of them. Inside, the house was roomy and light, but
everywhere he looked Oliver saw photos. Photos of robots of all
types -- photos of robots building robots. Oliver never would've
imagined there were that many robots in the world!
When they ate dinner they had screws, hammers, and oil. (Leah Nasgowitz) This was quite different from the mushroom and olive pizza he was used to. Oliver was hoping for a yummy dessert and he wasn't disappointed. They had screwberry shortcake! (Leah Nasgowitz) After dinner, the other robots handed him a camera (Rachel Scaduto) and said "The camara is for you. It's a gift. We'd like you to stay and live with us, but if you don't, you can take lots of pictures to take home and remember us!" (Zachary Nasgowitz) "You want me to stay?" asked Oliver. "I've wanted a friend for so long, that I was going to try and build one, but now I have all of you!" Oliver did stay. He loved all his new robot friends. He even had them rebuild him upside down so he wasn't always talking to his friends feet. Guess you could say he was "head over heels" for his new friends. Now that is true friendship!!! | ||||
